There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Always seek out people that represent where you want to be.  It may take a few calls or emails but there are so many women out there that want to help other women succeed.  I truly believe in supporting women and I have met so many women along my journey that have supported me.  They do exist, you just have to find the right one that fits your personality.  So where do you start?  Your local networking organizations in your field or the field you desire to be a part of.  As  you introduce yourself during the networking event you will find you will connect with some women. These are the women you ask for a business card from and follow up by asking if they would like to grab coffee or lunch.  Most women that are at these networking events are there to make business connections.  You will know right away if the women you connected with is interested in supporting you.  Another way is join  your local women’s organizations in your field.  Get involved on the board, planning events, their luncheons etc.  This will put your around like minded women and you will notice these organizations are usually in place to support women.  To get the support you need you must put yourself out there and find it, it does exist.
